Meeting Jan 2026
Meeting at Westminister Jan 19th 2026
This was held in the Wilson Room of Portcullis House. Four members of the PHOJC Team attended and we thank Lee Barron MP and his office for making the arrangements at Westminster.

An invitation was sent to every one of our supporting MPs and Lee Barron’s office publicised it to many others. The focus of the meeting was to engage with MPs to find ways forward that will bring about a decision on the 10% commission charge in 2026.

Many of you have asked if your MP attended. PHOJC’s secretary did her best to obtain the names of all attending MPs. However, the room filled quickly and we apologise if any were missed
.
The list of attendees who were present or represented by their offices are:

The following MPs had prior commitments but asked to be briefed:Alex Brewer MP, Helen Morgan MP, Caroline Nokes MP,
Michelle Scrogham MP, Caroline Voaden MP.

The above MPs were all sent a copy of the PHOJC briefings on the meeting. Copies were also sent to all the supporting MPs who did not attend the meeting. All attendees were given a copy of PHOJC’s rationale on the 10% charge.

PHOJC considered the meeting to be very successful - even though much work remains to be done. Many MPs spoke of their support for our campaign.
  • A park homes debate has been called.
  • Pressure to set up a new APPG for residential park home residents (without the industry as the secretariat) was strongly voiced.
  • Inquiries are being made by MPs.
  • Other avenues that we cannot voice now are being explored.
PHOJC is aware that government’s inaction over the last 12 years has meant an estimated £192m has been taken from elderly residents - since the Universities' Report was published in June 2022 - while the government continues to dither. This is money that should have gone to their essential care, support, or retirement funds. Delay is causing real financial loss and emotional distress to people who have contributed to society all their lives and deserve security, not uncertainty.

It was said that the 10% commission charge is a hot potato and results arising from positive action are a potential election winner for constituency MPs. Well, you heard it here - and below is an important message from MPs that we now bring to our members:

“Park Home residents have more power than they think they have.  With regard to the 10% commission charge, residents need to lobby their constituency MP in great numbers.”

MPs explained that they receive many calls for their time and not all can be dealt with quickly.  A cause stands out and has the best chance of action if MPs receive hundreds of e-mails on that subject from their constituents. Subsequently, MPs then take those causes very seriously and are more likely to act.

The above information is straight from the horse’s mouth, and we can tell you that the MPs who were present have all been informed of PHOJC’s imminent plans.
